Let us take you for a tasty and spicy adventure - we are offering a very delicate and various menu with typical Hungarian foods. In the bottom of the page you can find some exemplars. The foods' ingredients are mainly based on herbs and plants grown at our terrace. In this menu system we try to stick to the traditional Hungarian cuisine, based on our childhood memories and the recipes of our grandmas. So we will listen to our instincts.
START - HOT EXPERIENCE
If you feel strong enough, we are happy to start with the traditional 45% strong Hungarian spirit, pálinka.
FIRST BITES - HUNGARIAN "TAPAS TABLE" FOR APPETIZER
Choose what you want from our different types of home made pestos - some of the herb mixes are really unique and seasonal (basil + walnut, sage + sunflower seeds, mint + lime, concentrated oregano, or chili pepper pesto). Additionally we will show you some typical Hungarian cold cuts (like horse sausage) and fresh bread.
It is seasonable, but sometimes we serve a delicious, cold and sour cucumber soup as the first course.
MAIN COURSE - THE REAL THING
We we will get back to traditional cuisine, and will definitely use some unique Hungarian ingredients. For example you may meet with
- liver, rooster's testicles, rib, horse sausage
- cottage cheese
- lots of garlic, tomatoes, onion and hot pepper,
- home made pickles
It is hard to pick one, we both love all of our courses. And it usually can happen that the basic is the fat bacon. This all may sound frightening, but as the result is a very harmonized taste, we are sure you will enjoy it!
THE DESSERT - FROM OUR CHILDHOOD
Whether you taste the poppy seed dough or the sweet cottage cheese dumplings with sour cream and powdered sugar, you'll like them. Both are rarely available outside of Hungary and are amazingly many-sided. The dessert will definitely be a real experience for the foreign people. We will hit the spot for sure!
WINE - TRY THE DRY!
Probably you're gonna be thirsty, so have fun with our wines. During the summer try the dry rosé wine from the lake Balaton (Révfülöp village) mixing with soda water in varying proportions. The result is the traditional Hungarian spritzer called "fröccs", which is very beloved and refreshing sparkling drink. During autumn or winter you're gonna have heavy and tasty red wine or lighter white wine.
So, good appetite, we are looking forward to seeing you!
PS: during the summer we can eat at our huge terrace (3-4 guests), top of the Buda's houses.

Chicken liver + testicle stew with barley and egg-noodles
Mákos guba (poppy dough)
EXEMPLAR MENU 2. (for vegetarians without sausage):
Cucumber soup
Lecso (the hungarian ratatouille with paprika, onion, tomato, sausage)
Sweet cottage cheese dumplings with sour cream
EXEMPLAR MENU 3. (for vegetarians without meat):
Creamy green peas soup
Stuffed paprika with goat cheese, purple potato and grinded meat
Golden noodles with vanilla dressing
We are flexible, feel free to contact us. As some ingredients on our menus are seasonable, small changes or mixes could effect. We'll see what kind of fresh stuff we could get at the market and finalize the menu.
