Together we've created WoodEar, an eatery located in our cozy Brooklyn brownstone.     Upon arriving, Julia immediately welcomed me with a glass of sangria and made me feel comfortable. I loved the menu which perfectly described what we were to expect. Johnny would emerge from the kitchen and describe each dish, and Julia was attentive throughout. I absolutely loved the creativity in the cooking, with emphasis on mushrooms, their specialty. I had never had mushroom popcorn or mushroom crackers before, and the food was made with finesse, from start to end, with the flan. Both of them shared the joy of food, and I loved how Julia would share in the conversation--the rest of the company comprised their friends--with Johnny joining us at the end. It was a relaxed, intimate and very delicious evening. These eatwith meals are the best I've had so far this year.

    What a magical experience! The hosts were super friendly, knowledgeable and enthused about their cooking and entertaining neighbors and friends into their home. The food was terrific with a story for each dish. The setting was comfortable and so Brooklyn. The people that we met were interesting and added a lot of spice to our lives! I would highly recommend this dinner experience.

    I hosted a surprise dinner party for my wife at Woodear last night, and everyone has an absolute ball. Great space, and amazing food! My most mushroom-skeptical guests are all converts now.
