BALAZS: I was born in Budapest, and am still living here - this is a great place! I graduated from literature & film & art theory and am currently doing my PhD. I'm working as a filmmaker. My hobby is long-distance running. A runner likes the carbohydrate - but beside this I really prefer the Hungarian cuisine's recipes. Try our solid but obsessed cuisine! ESZTER: I was born, raised and graduated at Budapest. After finishing as a chartered landscape architect, I joined a Doctoral Programme in art theory. Beside these studies I operated in different places in various positions such as marketing assistant, production operation manager and PR expert. Now I'm working as an event manager, but I'm a qualified florist and flower decorator. My approach to the things of life is often aesthetic. My outfit is well-planned every day, I patched the tiles for our kitchen’s wall, I embroidered our cookbook with and Escher pattern, and I’m extraordinarily finical with her own handwriting. And this is the case with my cooking as well.

We had a great dinner at Balazs & Eszter. The atmosphere was genuine and welcoming. The food that was server was excellent and it was presented well. We had interesting discussions and a lot of different kinds of traditional Hungarian courses. The location is a walking distance from the river and can be found easily. Our hosts 2.5 year old son was the cutest waiter we had ever seen! Strong recommendation!

We loved sharing dinner with Eszter and Balazs. The food and wine were excellent, but visiting with this delightful couple was the true highlight of the evening. We have already recommended them to others and will join them again if we have the opportunity to return to Budapest.
