Hi everyone! My name is Michela but you can call me Miky! I moved here to Brooklyn from my home town in Brisighella, Italy, right outside Tuscany. I live in Bensonhurst Brooklyn with my husband and son and I love discovering new experiences and things to do! I’m passionate about seasonal food, and environment. I try my best to make the world a better and smarter place to live! I Decided to start Eatwith because I want to share a different food prospective of what you are used to see in restaurants in NY. In fact, if you want a “feel like home” experience this is the right one for you. My food is hearty, handmade, and each dish will tell you a different story from my country.

Michela and Joe made my girlfriend and me feel right at home. They wasted no time, pouring us a glass of Prosecco upon arrival and then quickly putting us to work. We got our hands dirty, by first making fresh dough from scratch, while Michela directed us and told us the keys to each ingredient. Joe kept our glasses full, while we moved on to making Tagliatelle, Strozapretti, and Spinach and Ricotta Tortelli with Michela. Once our cooking lesson was complete, Joe and Michela showed us how to make the perfect tomato sauce and butter and sage sauce to accompany each dish. And finally, our evening concluded by sitting down to dinner, with what felt like old friends. I would highly recommend this class to any couples or amateur cooks who're looking for an authentic Italian cooking experience or just a fun couple to spend an evening with. And I can't wait to book our next visit...maybe for Valentine's Day :)

I had the pleasure of bringing my family (parents & brother) to their first EatWith experience at Michela & Joe's. It did not disappoint! Not only were Joe & Michela wonderful hosts (we really enjoyed chatting with them about a wide range of topics!), but the food was fantastic. Despite living in NYC with a plethora of Italian restaurants, I had never had Michela's dishes before. They were unique to her region of Italy and they were all delicious and unbelievably fresh! All of our plates were cleaned. I should also mention that Michela was very accommodating with some dietary restrictions, I am pregnant and most of my family doesn't eat pork and she was able to comply to both! We had the most delicious array of cheeses and bread to start, these very tasty edamame and butternut squash muffin things, and then my favorite dish which was Michela's handmade pasta that was like a tortellini filled with heavenly cheeses flown in from Italy in a light beef broth with truffle oil!!! Then we had a beef stew type dish with polenta that was really perfect and hearty for a cold day and we ended with these divine little coffee eclair type puff pastries and a side of handmade cream that was to die for. Long story short, we ate and drank very well and would definitely recommend Michela & Joe's experience to anyone! My family loved the experience from start to finish and will definitely be checking out more EatWith events. Thank you both for a wonderful evening!
