You never quite know what you're getting yourself in for at a supperclub, but when we'd seen the chef for the evening getting asked for her scotch bonnet gel recipe by Marcus Wareing on MasterChef, we figured we were in safe hands. And we really were, right from the spiced prosecco we were handed on arrival, until we left reluctantly at the end of the night. Every course (and there were a lot of them) was thoughtfully composed, beautifully presented, and executed with panache. I thoroughly enjoyed each mouthful, and as a daughter of Jamaicans, I really appreciated Michelle's fidelity to authentic Caribbean flavours - it's not easy to maintain the complex flavours of our food while elevating it to gourmet dining. I mean, plaintain marshmallow with soursop pâte de fruit? RIDICULOUSLY tasty. I want more, please. And soon.
